The opposition United National Congress is describing the Prime Minister’s behaviour in the Lower House as political gangsterism.
During last Friday’s sitting, there was a verbal clash between Dr. Keith Rowley and opposition MP Dr. Roodal Moonilal.
It was during the questions to the prime minister’s session, Dr. Moonilal asked if the PNM administration could have fit the medical bills for Minister Maxie Cuffie, instead of using tax payers money.
The Prime Minister apparently misunderstood the question.
Dr. Moonilal then referred to Dr. Rowley as a badjohn.
Deputy political leader of the UNC Dr. David Lee later described Dr. Rowley’s behaviour as offensive and unbecoming of the office he holds
In a statement Dr. Lee said it was ironic that the very day the parliament passed the Anti Gang Bill, the leader of the government descended into the worst form of political gangsterism.
He said Dr. Rowley demonstrated his sensitive political underbelly, as he thought Dr. Moonilal has referred to funding for political elites.
He said the Prime Minister acted like a gang leader instead of the leader of the government.
