Chaguanas Mayor Gopaul Boodhan wants the establishment of a temporary army base in central Trinidad to deal with crime. Mayor Boodhan made the suggestion shortly after a meeting with joint security agencies and the business community.

His worship told reporters there are several crime hot spots and suggested possible sites for the camp. Meanwhile the central Mayor issued a special call to carnival masqueraders and visitors who plan to be on the streets of Chaguanas to do all they can to ensure their safety.
