Tobago’s Chief Secretary Farley Augustine labels the planned increase in gas prices as ill timed.
But he says there is hope as the continuing situation of increased food prices, gives rise to the need for more people to plant their own food.
Mr. Augustine spoke with Newscenter 5, during the planting of 2 breadfruit trees on the compound of the Office of the Chief Secretary yesterday.
It is an initiative of the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Program.
Over the weekend, the Tobago Business Chamber, the Movement for Social Justice and the Supermarkets Association called for a halt to the implementation of the new fuel prices.
