Prisons Commissioner Sterling Stewart will today meet with National Security Minister Edmund Dillon. Speaking on the morning show on i95.5fm yesterday Commissioner Stewart said the safety of his officers must be the main topic of the discussion.
Commissioner Stewart lamented the failure of the authorities to take the concerns of officers seriously…resulting in lives being lost. Mr. Stewart further said investigations so far into the murder of Supt. Millet point to a hit being ordered from behind the prison walls.
Twelve persons of interest are now being questioned in connection with the murder of Superintendent of Prisons David Millette. Senior Superintendant Johnny Abraham says the suspects were held during overnight police exercises in Maracas St. Joseph and Morvant between 11pm on Monday and 7am yesterday.
He says the 8 are currently being held in separate stations throughout the north eastern and northern divisions. Supt. Millette was shot dead in his car on Monday morning along Cipriani Avenue, 2nd Caledonia, Morvant..
