Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley is said to have given a commitment to the Tobago chamber to fix their problems once and for all but the details he is keeping to himself.
Yesterday Prime Minister Rowley met with the Tobago business community at the Mt. Pleasant home of businessman James Morshead.
The media was not invited.
Later Tobago Chamber Chairman Demi John Cruickshank told TV6 News Dr. Rowley gave assurances and the public will be notified at a later date.
Mr. Cruickshank also said the Prime Minister will be requesting a report from the newly-installed Port Authority board and its recommendations in terms of a suitable replacement for the super-fast Galicia.
However again the details were not revealed.
The Express Newspaper attempted to speak with the Prime Minister at the Mt. Pleasant goat and crab races, but Dr. Rowley preferred not to comment on the matter.
The meeting included THA Chief Secretary Kelvin Charles, officials of the Tobago Chamber, President of the Hotel and Tourism Association in Tobago Chris James, officials of the Truckers Association and other tourism stakeholders.
Reports say the meeting, began just after noon, and concluded shortly before 3 p.m.
