Trinidad and Tobago’s education system got a failing grade from Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley. His statement comes as he took part in the final installment of the sector’s national consultation in Tobago yesterday.
Prime Minister Rowley said there is a recognition that we are not doing as well as we should. In fact, the Prime Minister said it is my view that the education system is failing as children are being put through school and not being educated.
The Prime Minister’s comments came even as students – both male and female – in one of the country’s largest government secondary schools found themselves subject to scanning and searches by security personnel yesterday. The action follows plans of mass murder revealed last Friday.
