Police probe the double murder in Laventille

doublemurderInvestigations continue today into the murders of Abiola Noel, and her on-again off-again boyfriend, Andre La Touche. The 25 year-old mother of two, and 28 year-old Mr. La Touche, were leaving her Eastern Quarry, Laventille, home around 8.30 am yesterday when gunmen attacked them.

According to police reports, the silver Nissan Tiida crashed into a concrete dumpster after being sprayed with bullets.  Reports say the killers spent a few moments peering at the couple as they lay dying in the vehicle.

Police believe the assailants wanted to ensure Mr. La Touche, who they suspect was the target, was dead. Police said Mr. La Touche, originally from Fifth Avenue, Malick, Barataria, had gotten into an altercation with some men from Eastern Quarry, Laventille, at Malick and was targeted.

Speaking with the media at the scene of her daughter’s murder yesterday, Michelle Andrews questioned why her neighbours for the past 16 years would blatantly and brazenly murder her child. Ms. Andrews said her daughter was well liked by all who knew her.
