There is no positive identification yet of the body found tied to an offshore platform in south-western peninsula. Police say the male body was attached to a steel bar with a piece of rope, and three concrete blocks were tied to the feet.
Petrotrin yesterday afternoon issued a statement saying an employee on duty aboard the vessel swift, in Trinmar’s main field, observed what appeared to be a human body floating in the water in close proximity to the company’s platform.
The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard, the police service and Petrotrin’s security department were informed and responded. The Coast Guard assisted with the recovery of the body.
