Persons, who have wild meat in their possession, are being told to quickly dispose of them as the hunting season comes to a close.

The hunting season officially closes today, in accordance with the conservation of wildlife act chapter 67:01.

In a release the division of food security, natural resources, the environment and sustainable development, reminds members of the public that the closed season runs from April 1^st to September 30^th.

It adds, the month of March is a grace period, which allows for the disposal of, any prohibited meat articles during the closed season.
