The Pan-American Health Organisation is very concerned about the spike in COVID-19 cases in several parts of the region.

Among the countries registering significant increases is Barbados.

PAHO Director Dr. Carissa Ettiene says the situation is severe.

Dr. Ettiene says managing the virus is critical and so too surveillance.

She is suggesting that countries in the region must act smarter and united as the fight against the pandemic continues.
