Why the rush to appoint Baptiste, says Sir Andy Roberts

Sir Andy Roberts

Sir Andy Roberts

Former West Indies fast bowler and coach, Sir Andy Roberts says suspended West Indies head coach Phil Simmons should have resigned before going public with allegations of outside interference in the selection process.

Sir Andy was speaking on the Afternoon Drive programme on I95fm yesterday.

He also raised questions about the West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB’s) appointment of a new head coach ahead of the Sri Lanka series.

Simmons was suspended on Monday, two days after alleging outside influence was responsible for keeping all-rounders Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard out of the One-Day International (ODI) squad.
