Mrs. Persad Bissessar last night said she will not be forced out and will hold internal elections when they are due.
According to Mrs. Persad Bissessar her critics want her out and do not really care about democracy in the party.
She vowed to stay put.

Chief Justice Ivor Archie is expected to appear in court today to defend allegations leveled against him by former Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayers Caesar.
The Chief Justice is to be cross-examined by lead attorney for Mrs. Ayers Caesar, Senior Counsel Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj.
The former Chief Magistrate is claiming she was forced to tender her resignation 2 weeks after being appointed to the position.

With immediate effect, Assistant Commissioner of Police Irwin Hackshaw has been suspended.
This follows the completion of the preliminary probe by the Police Complaints Authority into the bank accounts of ACP Hackshaw.
The injections of significant amounts of money into the ACP’s accounts have raised some suspicions, and led to calls for an investigation.

Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has come under some fire for his treatment of the issue involving his senior officer.
He has also denied claims that his executive has been stalling investigations into the financial transactions of ACP Hackshaw.
In stories published by the Express Newspaper it was reported that the banks flagged the multi-million dollar transactions to the Financial Intelligence Unit.
This came after deposits into over 15 personal accounts belonging to ASP Hackshaw.
In a statement yesterday Commissioner Griffith is quoted as saying now that the PCA’s investigations are complete, he is in a position to act on the matter.
Several weeks ago Commissioner Griffith said he was not prepared to bow to internal and external pressure, based on newspaper articles.
Commissioner Griffith had said prior to the latest development that there were no recommendations made by either the PCA or the TTPS with regard to any criminal offence.
He said what he received in August was a recommendation for disciplinary action based on an initial report.
Earlier this year, Commissioner Griffith told a news conference that the police investigation of ACP Hackshaw found no evidence of criminal conduct and that the police findings had been sent to the DPP to ensure complete transparency in the police service and its investigations.
ACP Hackshaw is expected to retire from the TTPS later this year.
A Tunapuna man who breached an Interim Protection Order is placed on $10,000 bail.
Police say 63-year-old Lance Joseph, of Auzonville Court, was charged with the offence, when he appeared virtually before Magistrate Nalini Singh, on September 7th.
Police say he pleaded not guilty to the charge, and was granted bail.
The matter was adjourned to November 18th.
A female victim told police that on May 18th, she had obtained an Interim Protection Order against the accused.
The order was valid for a 21-day period and expected to expire on June 8th 2020.
The order prohibited and restrained the accused from engaging or threatening to engage in conduct that amounts to domestic violence against the applicant.
The victim alleged that on May 29th, she was at the Tunapuna Police Station when the accused uttered certain words to her.
A report of the incident was made to the Northern Division’s Gender Based Violence Unit and an investigator was appointed.
Police say on September 6th the accused was found by investigators and subsequently was charged with the offence.
Investigations were spearheaded by W/Supt. Claire Guy-Alleyne and supervised by Insp. Stanley and W/Cpl. Edwards.
WPC Scott laid the charge.
Police now have in custody 5 people in connection with the kidnapping of 9-month-old baby Sophia Rivas.
Sophia was taken from her Longdenville, Chaguanas home on Tuesday morning.
Hours later the baby was found at a house in Curepe.
Among those detained was a 19-year-old woman.
The child and her parents are Venezuelan nationals.
Sophia’s mother Valentina Hernandez said she received a call from someone demanding $20,000TT for the safe return of the baby.
Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Jayson Forde said yesterday officers worked feverishly to find the child.
He told TV6’s Morning Edition program that the child appeared to be physically well when she was rescued.
DCP Forde was certain that charges would be laid.
The 19-year-old female suspect is from California, central Trinidad.
A 44-year-old unemployed man is facing 7 counts of sexual penetration of a child and 1 count of attempted suffocation.
The man was arrested by officers of the Northeastern Division Child Protection Unit during an exercise was spearheaded by (AG) W/Supt George, ASP Nowbutt and supervised by Inspector Davidson.
A release from the TTPS says a 10-year-old girl confided in her aunt and grandmother that she was being repeatedly raped.
A report was made to the Child Protection Unit Northeastern Division, and PC Hospedales was detailed to conduct enquiries.
His investigations revealed that during the period March 2019 and September 9th, 2020, the suspect sexually assaulted the girl on numerous occasions and during one encounter he attempted to suffocate her using a pillow. The suspect was arrested and charged for the offences on September 14th.
Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh says he is not afraid of the backlash over his condemnation of Samantha Ramischand.
And he says he would do it again if he has to.
Earlier this week Minister Deyalsingh slammed Ms. Ramischand after she posted a video of herself on social media at a beach saying her family privately owned it.
The Minister was severely criticized by her father Attorney Odai Ramischand who used colourful language against the Minister for his comments.
At yesterday’s COVID-19 media briefing, Minister Deyalsingh said he is not afraid to speak the truth.
The Minister said he has no regrets for the comments he made.
