Finance Minister Colm Imbert will this afternoon deliver the 2016/2017 Fiscal package.
There is widespread anxiety about the package to be delivered at 1:30pm.
Various orgainsations including the protective services, labour, health and the manufacturing sectors are expressing hope Minister Imbert meets their demands in his presentation.
This is the PNM administration’s second fiscal package since winning the 2015 General Elections.
This country has had a growing deficit budget since 2009 and the Finance Minister says this one will be no different.
Yesterday former Energy Minister Conrad Enill said Mr. Imbert may have to cut expenditure to save jobs.
And an arm of the protective service is hoping the minister lives up to its expectations.
President of the Fire Services Association Leo Ramkissoon says he hopes the Finance Minister addresses the issue of austerity.
Both men were speaking with Newscentre 5 yesterday.
I95.5fm will bring pre and post budget analyses with our live studio panel, comprising of Ardene Sirjoo, Mariano Browne, Dr. Sheila Rampersad and David Abdullah.
