Police hold 2 men for sexual misconduct against minors.
The detentions occurred in western Trinidad and Tobago.
In a statement the officers of the Child Protection Unit say a 47 year-old unemployed man, of School Road, Long Circular, St. James, is facing one count of sexual touching of a minor.
According to the CPU, the second accused, a 38-year-old labourer, of Gold Finch Ave, Sou Sou Lands, Tobago, is also on one count of sexual touching of a minor.
The offences run contrary to Section 18 of the Children’s Act 46:01.
The exercise was spearheaded by W/Supt (AG) George, ASP Nowbutt, and supervised by Insp. Francis and Sgt. Miller.
The Child Protection Unit is calling on citizens to report all cases of abuse and assures those reports will be thoroughly investigated.
The men were expected to appear in court yesterday.
