The circumstances surrounding the death of an autistic woman in Gasparillo are now the subject of a police investigation.

Carla Achlal was discovered dead yesterday morning.

Speaking with reporters yesterday her father Vishnu Achlal said his daughter suffocated after being bound and gagged by bandits who invaded their Bonne Aventure Road home.

The incident is said to have occurred at around 2:45am.

Her brother Marlon Achlal, told police he got up to find three men rummaging through the hardware store located on the ground floor of the house.

Mr. Archlal said he was confronted by the assailants who demanded money and the keys to the family car.

He told investigators he was tied up along with his father Vishnu Archlal and sister.

Mr. Archlal said the area was normally peaceful.

He said the community is schocked

Police are searching for suspects.
