Machel Montano and his leading lady on screen Natalie Perera are excited about the reaction which is sure to follow the Trinidad and Tobago release of the film Bazodee.

The premier of Bazodee took place last evening, but today it is released in cinemas across the country and the region.

The love story set in Trinidad and Tobago was first released in the United States, to what many say were rave reviews.

Montano and the British actress say it took about two months to film here, but the script and attempts to turn it into reality took roughly ten years.

Natalie Perera’s parents are Sri Lankans and she said yesterday explaining to her friends and others in the UK about the cultures that exist in Trinidad and Tobago and the region was difficult.

She said she was amazed by the vast cultural and ethnic mixes which exist here and she took the part because there are not many stories about Indian women in love situations such as what is depicted in Bazodee.

For his part Montano, who plays the lead role in the movie, said what is in the script is what he has been singing about in some of his songs for years.

He believes the movie will help heal whatever ethnic rifts that still exist in Trinidad and Tobago.
