The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says while the Cambridge Analytica investigation may have run cold, it is not closed.
The case was launched after allegations that the United National Congress used technological subliminal to influence voters thereby securing the win in Election 2010.
Speaking at a news conference yesterday Deputy Commissioner of Police Jayson Forde said to date there has been no new evidence.
He said contact was made with international experts but no new information was forthcoming.
In May of this year DCP Forde told a media briefing the criminal investigation into the Cambridge Analytica scandal and its involvement in an alleged breach of data privacy laws in Trinidad and Tobago was closed.
DCP Forde said then the matter was investigated but their best attempts to reach data analyst and author Christopher Wylie were unsuccessful.
In November 2019, government announced an investigation would be raised into Cambridge Analytica’s role and Wylie’s claims in his book, regarding a breach of the privacy of Trinidadians which involved accessing their online browsing information and location data.
