Businessman Kadar Ali Mark is shot and killed on the compound of Anand Low Price Supermarket in south Oropouche.

Mr. Mark was the owner of Foreplay Hotel and Lounge in San Fernando and also the owner of Kadar Enterprises.

A second businessman who was with Mr. Kadar at the time of the shooting escaped uninjured.

The shooting happened shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the supermarket.

Witnesses said the two businessmen were standing near a vehicle when a gunman walked up and began shooting at them.

Mr. Kadar was taken to hospital where he died.

The motive for the killing was not immediately known.

Four days ago, criminals shot and killed a security guard near the entrance of Anand Low Price Supermarket in Debe.

A supermarket manager was also shot by the bandits who stole the payroll that evening.

The suspects were never caught.
