National Security Minister insists crime should not be politicised

5b6ce7e3690f2.imageAs the crime situation continues to occupy the attention of the government, National Security Minister Stuart Young is insisting crime cannot and should not be politicised.

He says his government is concerned about every murder in the country.

In the parliament last Friday, Minister Young was called upon to account for his government’s handling of the crime problem.

Opposition MP Rodney Charles lamented the number of killings under the Minister’s watch.

And on Friday an online publication ranked Trinidad and Tobago as one of the most violent places on earth.

Minister Young yesterday questioned the lack of data to support the claim.

And in response to concerns about recent police killings he again said the men and women of the armed forces have the governments support.

However he said it does not mean they have a license to kill.
