The decomposing body of a man is discovered in Cocorite. The find was made this morning. Residents of Waterhole contacted police complaining of a foul stench in the area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found the body of a man lying on the ground. The body has since been viewed by relatives and it is believed to that of 33-year-old Mark Thompson.

Police say Mr. Thompson was known to them as a suspect on several inquiries. Investigators say Mr.Thompson, had reported receiving death threats in the past, but it could not be confirmed if his death was linked to that situation. He was reportedly last seen on Friday.Police say there were marks of violence about the body. An autopsy is expected to be performed on the body. Investigations are continuing.
