An admitted error made by officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is raised in the Senate.
The officers went into two establishments and stopped the sale of pre-packaged foods, saying it was against COVID-19 Related Law and Regulations.
It was later found to be an error and the 2 businesses were not in breach of any law.
On Monday the Police Commissioner, Gary Griffith apologised for the actions.
Yesterday in the Upper house, Opposition Senator, Wade Mark called for more information on the police actions.
National Security Minister Stuart Young said it was an innocent error.
He sought to defend the work of the police service in this time of a health pandemic.
The businesses visited by the officers were the St. Christopher’s Gas Station and a Massy Stores branch in Woodbrook.
