67 new COVID cases recorded in T&T

67 new positive COVID-19 cases are recorded in Trinidad and Tobago.

In its latest release yesterday afternoon the Ministry of Health said 637 remain in home self-isolation.

It said 175 of the cases are in the prison system.

But the Prison Officers Association President Cerron Richards yesterday said the Attorney General’s promise to release some eligible inmates has not yet materialised.

On TV6 earlier this week, AG Faris Al Rawi said the process has started.

But Mr. Richards said the Attorney General is not telling the truth.

He said his members and the prison population are in danger.

And the North Central Regional Health Authority says it believes it was well prepared to handle the pandemic.

The NCRHA held a public board meeting yesterday.

Addressing the virtual event, Chief Executive Officer Davlin Thomas told of what was accomplished.

He also told of extensive training of staff.
