The Works and Transport Minister orders an investigation into the illegal removal of a bus from the city gate hub of the Public Transport Service Corporation in Port of Spain.
The perpetrator, described as a disgruntled PTSC worker, reportedly filmed himself driving the bus out of the terminus on Monday night.
In his rant, the driver explained that he had stolen the bus, demonstrating that he was able to do so with ease.
In response to the widely shared online video, PTSC denies one of its buses was stolen.
But the company says the employee who was venting his displeasure with a change in operations took the bus for a ride.
The driver was critical of the management of PTSC and its perceived inability to protect what it owns.
The man then took viewers on his journey back onto the Port of Spain compound.
Via a release PTSC is describing the incident as mischievous and malicious.
It says the change in operations was implemented to improve the on-time departure of all early morning services out of Port of Spain.
The PTSC says the matter is being fully investigated and any gaps identified in its processes will be quickly addressed.
Transport Minister, Rohan Sinanan said the full brunt of the law would be brought against the driver.
The corporation says it recognises the serious nature of the breach and the police are now involved in the probe.
