Wife of deceased police officer is calling on the person(s) responsible to turn themselves in

UnknownThe wife of deceased police officer Anson Benjamin is calling on the person or person responsible for the shooting of her husband to hand themselves over to police. Constable Benjamin died yesterday, three days after being shot in the head during a failed robbery by supermarket bandits in south.

 

Up to last night the suspects remained at large. Shortly before noon yesterday, PC Benjamin died at the Intensive Care Unit of the San Fernando General Hospital. His death was confirmed by medical director of the San Fernando General Hospital Dr. Anand Chatoorgoon who said days ago that the officer had little chance of surviving the wound, which had left a bullet lodged at the base of the neck.

 

His wife Sherry Ann Foster had only a day before pleaded with those responsible to turn to Christ and hand themselves over to police. The Police Commissioner has expressed his sadness over the death and extended his condolences to PC Benjamin’s family and colleagues. The officer had 16-years of service. 45-year-old PC Benjamin, enlisted in 2000 and was a father of five children. He was attached to the Ste. Madeleine Police Station.
