A hit and run accident in Barrackpore leaves one man dead.

The victim is yet to be identified.

Reports say the man was walking along Mohees Road, Debe at around 6 O’clock last evening, when he was hit by a white Nissan Frontier vehicle. He died on impact.

Eyewitnesses told police the driver of the vehicle never stopped.

Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the victim. A search has also been mounted for the driver of the vehicle.

Barrackpore police are continuing investigations.
