The Coast Guard rescues fishermen stranded at sea.
A release from the Coast Guard says while conducting border security patrols yesterday a pirogue with two persons on board was seen drifting off the southwestern coast of Trinidad.
The fishing vessel left its homeport in Moruga on Tuesday afternoon.
The Coast Guard was told soon after leaving the vessel began experiencing engine problems and lost all power.
The men were taken on board a Coast Guard Asset where they were able to contact family members.
The Coast Guard says it continues to provide border security services in the face of the threat of COVID-19 in order to maintain the safety and security of the country.
