Members of the Steel Workers Union take to the streets of Point Lisas. The workers gathered at the Point Lisas round about from as early as 5am.

The union along with former Arcelor Mital employees is calling on government to move quickly with setting up measures to protect the rights of workers. Vice President Ramkumar Narinesingh made the statement while speaking with Newscenter 5 this morning.

Mr. Narinesingh warned that the union would be monitoring the process closely. Members of the Joint Trade Union Movement, FITON and NATUC also joined today’s demonstration.
