Two school children are caught on camera in a confrontation with an armed police officer and the reactions are shocking. The two uniformed girls are said to have intervened when the police officer tried to detain a young boy in Port of Spain earlier this week.
The girls are from two Port of Spain schools. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. Yesterday president of the Police Social and Welfare Association inspector, Anand Ramesar condemned the behaviour of the students.
He said such brash and brazen attitudes of school children ought not to be tolerated. The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Asociation yesterday said students who break the law should be dealt with.
TTUTA president Devanand Sinanan said it appears suspensions are not working. At the end of the video, police officers are seen escorting one of the students away after the incident. The male police officer also took away the young boy. The incident is reported to have occurred on Charlotte Street.
