Retired Transit Police Officers are calling on the government to intervene into their dispute with the Office of Law Enforcement Policy.
During a protest on the Priority Bus Route yesterday the group’s leader, retired Corporal Philbert Lendor, said the retirees are owed six years of gratuity payments.
Mr. Lendor noted that retired officers are now on the verge of poverty.
Mr. Lendor pointed out that while senior officers are aware of the outstanding payment, ensuring that the debt is paid seems to be elusive.
The retired corporal said he and his colleagues are sick and tired and there will be no rest until the money is paid.
