Reports that armed men are posing as WASA employees are being probed by police and the utility. The probe was launched after an audio file emerged on social media warning persons about persons dressing in the utility’s uniform robbing citizens.

In the clip an unidentified man is heard warning persons and he gives details of an incident where one of the alleged attackers places a gun in a woman’s mouth. Corporate Communication Manager at Water And Sewerage Authority Daniel Plenty says a probe into the allegations has begun.

Mr. Plenty says WASA is expected to make a statement on the matter soon. However at this time the report is engaging the attention of the police.
