A public health official is calling on members of the public to get vaccinated against the Coronavirus once it becomes possible.
Professor of Molecular Genetics and Virology Dr. Christine Carrington was speaking at yesterday’s COVID-19 news briefing.
Dr. Carrington said to refuse the vaccine would be a mistake.
However she noted while some persons may not be able to get immunised for medical reasons, everyone else would do well to get immunised.
Dr. Carrington said there are a lot of persons who are being fed false information and this could lead to further infections.
And Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh shared a similar view.
He said even some in the Parliament have been misinformed about vaccination.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan was also at the COVID-19 media conference.
