Political Scientist, Author, Columnist and Pollster Professor, Selwyn Ryan has died.
Reports are saying he died at his Glenco home on Saturday evening.
Professor Ryan was 86-years-old.
It is reported he had been ailing for quite some time and suffered with Parkinson’s disease.
Professor Ryan is known for his many publications, which include Race and Nationalism in Trinidad and Tobago and Eric Williams…The Myth and The Man.
During his career as a researcher and writer, Professor Ryan has written newspaper columns, academic papers, which captured the political history of Trinidad and Tobago.
His weekly column was read by many over the years it appeared on the pages of the Express Newspaper.
Selwyn Ryan and Associates was often engaged to provide statistics on key political and social issues including general and local government elections, under the banner of the SARA poll.
