Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a 2-month-old baby girl in Sangre Grande.

She is identified as Diana Maharaj. The baby was found to be unresponsive during the early hours of yesterday morning.

Her father told investigators some time around 4am baby Diana was fed by her mother and put to bed. However, he said the child was later discovered unresponsive.

Baby Diana was rushed to the Sangre Grande Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
