PM: extra security in the face of terror attacks

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says while there is fear, in the face of terror attacks, he will call for security efforts to be doubled.

Dr Rowley left for Malta yesterday with his delegation, including his wife Sharon, to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in from November 27 to 29.

The Prime Minister’s official trip comes in the wake of Islamic State (ISIS) terror attacks in Paris and when there’s heightened security in the UK and the rest of Europe.

Speaking with reporters yesterday, Dr Rowley said, “we hold ourselves out in the hands of the security services.”

He said the simplest advice he can give to citizens, is to be vigilant and call on the country’s security services whose job it is to secure the nation, to double their efforts.

Dr Rowley said, this is to ensure that Trinidad & Tobago does not fall prey to those who would set out to harm the population.
