The Farley Augustine executive in Tobago is trying to deal with debts left behind by the previous administration.
The new executive of the Tobago House of Assembly says a lot of money is owed to contractors and other service providers.
Chief Secretary Augustine says his administration is assessing and trying to find ways of settling.
Speaking with our correspondent Elizabeth Williams over the weekend, Mr. Augustine says he is aware of what is owed and the urgency attached to it.
Former Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis takes note of the cries of his successor.
However he says this could have been avoided.
