Four people, including 2 police constables have been shot and wounded at a bar in central Trinidad.

The officers are PC Khan and PC Duprey.

They were shot while responding to a report of a large gathering at the Big Timerz Bar on the Southern Main Road, Cunupia during the early hours of yesterday.

A man is said to have fired several shots at the officers before fleeing the scene.

The incident is reported to have occurred at around 4:30am.

PC Duprey was shot on the right shoulder and abdomen, while his colleague was hit in the upper right leg.

Twenty-one-year-old Kristina James of Arouca was shot in the left arm and 26-year-old Leticia Howard of Cunupia was hit in the left knee.

They were all taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility for treatment.
