The Ministry of Health refutes reports that work has stopped on the Point Fortin hospital.
On Saturday the movement for social justice claimed work had been stopped and called on the Ministry to restart construction.
However, the Ministry has issued a release to the contrary saying construction on the hospital continues.
And while speaking with the media on Sunday, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh said the country cannot continue its current approach to health care.
The Minister stressed the need for a preventative health care approach.
The Minister said there are 551,000 persons per year in out patient clinics.
He said it is time to reverse that, as it is unsustainable and unrealistic.
