The MET office tells persons to brace for bad weather today.

The MET service says there is a 70% chance of heavy showers and thunderstorms occurring at times during this period.

It says street/flash flooding, landslips and gusty winds are possible near heavy showers and thunderstorms.

The MET office says this activity is associated with enhanced low-level convergence and it is possible for conditions to become intense at times.

The MET office says this rainfall event may be especially impactful for areas that are currently experiencing some level of flooding.

The MET service issued the alert at 3 o’clock this morning and it says it will remain in effect until 8 o’clock tonight.
