The Council of the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago has launched an investigation into the racist rants of Dr. Avinash Sawh.
On Wednesday, Dr. Sawh apologised for the comments he made toward one of his former employees, which went viral last weekend and have triggered widespread condemnation.
The board has been asked to revoke Dr. Sawh’s license.
Secretary of the Council Professor Harryharan Seetaram says the utterances of Dr. Sawh must be condemned.
Professor Seetaram said yesterday taking action against Dr. Sawh must be carefully done.
But the head of the Emancipation Support Committee, Khafra Kambon wants to the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago to revoke the medical license of Dr. Sawh.
He does not believe the apology was genuine.
Speaking with Newscenter 5 yesterday Mr. Kambon said Dr. Sawh’s clinic must also be shut down.
A release yesterday said the board has to consider its actions and due process must be adhered to.
