A 39-year-old man falls, hits his head and drowns while at Macqueripe Beach.

He has been identified as Sherwin Winston Wilson.

He was from Covigne Road in Diego Martin.

The incident occurred at around 10:35 am yesterday.

Reports say Mr. Wilson was standing on some rocks when he fell.

It is said the lifeguard on duty at the time tried to resuscitate Mr. Wilson after taking him out of the water, but those efforts failed.

The Coast Guard was called and the man’s body was taken out of the area to Staubles Bay in Chaguaramas.

An autopsy is expected this week.
