Lawyers for expelled Barbados Labour Party MP Dr. Maria Agard threaten legal action. They give the National Council of the BLP seven days to reverse the expulsion of the Opposition MP or face the courts.
Queens’ Counsel Hal Gollop said yesterday the matter is a serious one and his client will see it to the end. The expelled Christ Church West MP Dr. Agard says she is seeking justice out of an unjust decision of her party. Dr. Agard was expelled two weeks ago.
She has been accused by BLP leader Mia Mottley of not recognizing the authority of the party’s institutions. Dr. Agard has been at loggerheads with her party for some time now. Yesterday she said she is still willing to serve, even though she may not be aligned to a political party. Dr. Maria Agard is a first time MP.
