Just under 300 million dollars was spent by government in garbage collection for 2016.

This was revealed in the Parliament yesterday by Minister of Rural Development and Local Government Kazim Hosein.

Mr. Hosein summed up the expenditure of regional corporations in response to a question from Opposition member for Tabaquite Dr. Surujrattan Rambachan.

He said in total it was around 277 million dollars.

Minister Hosein was speaking during questions for oral answer in the Lower House.
