Jehue Gordon became the first Trinidad and Tobago athlete to launch his own signature fragrance on Saturday at Brian Lara’s Lady Chancellor Hill home in Port of Spain.
The 2013 world champion 400-metre hurdler unveiled a designer cologne named “Ambition by Jehue” before store owners, distributors, friends, members of the media and fellow sportsmen, including Olympic gold medallists Hasely Crawford and Keshorn Walcott, as well as cricketer Dwayne Bravo and others.
The cologne was designed by a flavour and fragrance creator known as Symrise, which is headquartered in Holzminden, Germany, and is among the top fragrance designers in the world, having in 2014 been ranked number four in the world by Leffingwell and Associates, watchdogs of the international fragrance industry.
Gordon, who recently graduated from The University of the West Indies, St Augustine, with First Class Honours, said his fragrance is classified in the “fougere aromatic woody” category, which means that it has a fern-like scent that is of a spicy-grass texture with woody accents.
He said the blend includes cilantro leaves, Italian bergamot, Sicilian lemon, cilian cardamom and French rosemary.
