Jamaica Carnival is said to have attracted more people than Reggae Sumfest, Sting, Rebel Salute and St. Mary Mi Come From, combined.

According to Price Cooper Waterhouse (PCW) who keeps track of the crowd an estimated 15% of Jamaicans came out to enjoy the carnival in addition to people from abroad who flew in for the festivities.

It says this year was unprecedented as a total of four bands took to the street – Xaymaca, Xodus, Byron Lee’s Jamaica Carnival, and Bacchanal Jamaica.
Michael Ammar Jr, director of Bacchanal Jamaica, said he was “pleasantly surprised” with the turnout.
