The Housing Development Corporation is denying reports of a 7.5 million dollar payment to the wife of Finance Minister Colm Imbert.
The Sunday Express yesterday reported that Bolt Trinidad Limited, owned by Suzanne Williams Imbert was paid the sum after not being able to access the payment from the state agency under the last administration.
Well the express is today reporting that the HDC in response placed an advertisement on page 16 of today’s edition of the paper.
In the ad the HDC says it made a payment of $102,486 dollars and seventy five cents to the consultancy company in april 2016.
The HDC also says this represented a partial payment of the $417,315.70 dollars owed to Mrs.Williams-Imbert.
The Express story says in March last year Mrs. Williams-Imbert wrote to former HDC managing director Jearlean John, asking for $747,425 dollars plus vat as partial payment on $7.5 million owed to her company.
