The Minister of Education is pleading with teachers at private secondary schools to bear with government, as he says all is being done to address their concerns.
Government has been late in paying for students sent to the schools, via the Secondary Entrance Assessment.
This has affected the payment of salaries to the teachers.
Last week parents and teachers at the Corpus Christi College in Diego Martin told of money problems, caused by the government’s failure to meet its commitment.
Two weeks ago there was a similar situation at the Bishops Centenary College in Woodbrook.
Yesterday, Minister Anthony Garcia said he sympathized with teachers and he was doing all he can to rectify the situation.
Mr. Garcia was speaking with Newscenter 5 yesterday.
