The drowning of 1-year-old Sephra Sankar is now engaging the attention of the police.

The toddler drowned in Las Lomas on Sunday.

The incident is said to have occurred at around 1:45pm.

The child’s mother, Freeda Cruickshank told police she was at home with her daughter at the time.

Ms. Cruickshank said when she called out to the child she received no answer.

Upon investigation, she found the infant floating in a pool.

Police enquiries are underway.
