Winston Scarbrough, also known as The Original DeFosto

The country mourns the passing of yet another calypso icon, De Original Defosto. DeFosto real name, Winston Scarborough was found dead in bed at his Maloney home this morning.

The discovery was made by his son. The cause of his death is not immediately known.

The veteran calypsonian was ailing for some time.

Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly,  says she is deeply saddened by the passing.

She says, this is yet another national icon and patriot lost, it is almost too much to bear having seen him just a few days ago at Shadow’s funeral.

The Mighty Shadow two weeks ago. His funeral service was held on Tuesday.

The country also lost veteran pan man Professor Ken Philmore. Professor Philmore passed away last month following injuries sustained in a vehicular accident.
