Arima’s Mayor Lisa Morris-Julian has been selected as the Peoples National Movement’s candidate for the Dabadie/Omeara seat.
She was screened yesterday afternoon.
Mayor Morris Julian replaces Ancil Antoine who was pulled from the list by the Political Leader and Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, following a statement he made at a campaign event.
The constituency executive nominated Mrs. Morris Julian.
She is also the Public Relations Officer of the Women’s League of the Peoples National Movement.
The former schoolteacher and CXC examiner is also the granddaughter of former Mayor of Arima Leroy Morris.
Mrs. Morris Julian is now the 4th Head of a Regional Corporation to be selected as a candidate for the August 10th General Election.
The others are Point Fortin Mayor, Kennedy Richards, Diego Martin Regional Corporation Chairman, Simon De Nobriga and Chaguanas Mayor Vandana Mohit.
She will contest the Chaguanas west seat for the United National Congress.
