A new face is being planned for the capital city.

Government yesterday revealed plans for yet another initiative aimed at fixing the wrongs in Port of Spain.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley says this is part of the revitalization of the capital city, which has seen urban decay.

Dr. Rowley said the poor condition of the capital has manifested itself in many challenges including criminal activity.

Without giving the cost of the project, the Prime Minister said the development of the country does not lie solely on the State.

And Dr. Rowley is very concerned about what has happened to Queen Street, in the heart of the city.

He described Queen Street as a toilet.

Dr. Rowley said Queen Street was once a prime shopping center in the city of Port of Spain.
